![]() ![]() But anyway, it will not be very accurate.ĭo what makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone else, don't be a slave of "ratings", like someone here, this is just a game. Maybe it's possible to evaluate rating based on your statistic vs computer, for example: players on the 1**0 rating made a same amount of mistakes/blunders as stockfish level #, etc. Also playing vs computer is less stressful. I think about chess not like about facing my opponent, his strenght and weaknesess, i play vs board, vs situation on it. Correspondense games can be solution, but i dont like it. Also sometimes, in game vs computer i like to take a little break, making push-ups or get a breath of fresh air, this is helps me to find new options, new moves. I also play vs computer, because i dont like "fast chess" and sometimes i can be disturbed by my family, or phone, or something else. Someone good in beggining but sucks in mitelspiel, someone good in debut A/B/C but sucks in others. forget about ratings, if you not play vs real life opponents it's impossible to evaluate your rating. Man, if you play vs computer and you like it - play on. I need to get my ratings up to compete against the best players. I also want to know what sort of tournaments I should be putting myself in for, and, that is linked to (for the most part) a ratings number.Įdit - Y'all can downvote all you like, but I think of it like DOTA or LOL. ![]() I know it, I am a good student, but I don't feel like the rating system on is an accurate reflection of my true rating. I haven't lost a game in a month and I put a lot of that down to the computer on. Of the 69 games I have lost on I have timed out of 19. Last week I timed out of 6 games and it dropped to 827. ![]() When I started my rating was 800, my wife's father died and I timed out of 12 games. I won the group in 2 out of the 3 tourneys. I started doing chess tactics online and spotting opportunities in game to take a pawn or take a piece, then I started playing in three online tournaments for under 1000 players. Then he changed his tack and started to try out different ways, I beat him again. So, I figured out a way to beat him, always. He beat me, I know for a fact that he isn't that good, he is just really defensive. He moved every pawn onto the third rank and I thought that was weird. I'll tell you why, somewhere around the beginning of December a colleague brought a chess set into the school where I work and we had a game. I get what you are saying, but my problem is I like the rating system. `Įdit - Ha! I just lost a game! First one since January 11th. I do take back sometimes, maybe once a game, but I am working on that. I can beat level 3 regularly, and level 4 on occasion. I think I should be over 1000 but I just don't know. In fact the only games I have lost in the last month have been because of time (I usually play about 10 games at once). My rating doesn't reflect that because I have timed out a lot. I am new, but I walk through players up to 1000. I just want to know if there is a rough ratings guide for the different levels of Stockfish. Generally I don't like to play shorter time controls on against human players because they always do crazy stuff that doesn't allow me to think about the lines I want to play (I know, I am a dinosaur, but I want to learn what I am doing). I think I am doing alright, however I mostly play daily chess (so I can think about it more). I have been playing chess regularly for about 3/4 months.
